The History
Fritz Driescher senior
Already in the beginning of the 20th Century Fritz Driescher sen. realized the future importance for the demand of electrical power supply. In the age of only 24 he founded our enterprise in 1909 at Kapellen in the lower Rhine area.

In the beginning the electrification of wells, centrifugal machines, threshers and straw cutters/choppers was the first step. Just one year later he already employed a staff of 30 fitters.

A small metal-working factory was incorporated, where components for terminations were produced. The concentric biconical terminals - for which he granted his first official patent - were manufactured there in high quantities. With this concentric terminal the "connection" was achieved to the public energy power supply.

Fritz Driescher sen. tackled unsolved problems in the design and construction of switches and switchgear in the medium voltage range and his motto was: "I will manufacture those articles which are needed in practice for the power supply and makes it reliable and cost effective at same time!".

In 1925 we moved to Reydt into a larger plant.

In 1938 another large factory was erected in Moosburg (Bavaria), which in 1948 was taken over by Fritz Driescher Jr.

In 1947 when there were first signs for a deficit in the supply of technical porcelains, premises in Emmelshausen/Hunsrück were obtained. The production of porcelains was replaced in 1970 by a modern cast resin production, after the ceramic insulating means lost its importance more and more.

In 1951 the enterprise was taken over by the youngest son, Heinz Driescher who decided to buy an area of 118.000 square metres at Wegberg end of the fifties.
During the years production- and office buildings were built here in a total size of 21.000 m²

Since 1989 the family tradition is continued in the third generation.
